10 Ways to Stay Motivated

For most of us, motivation seems to peak and dissipate. You may get a surge of energy here and there, you get a little inspiration and feel compelled to do that task or creative element you always long to do but it never sticks. You don't consistently feel the motivation to do the things you truly want to do. Why is that? There is a reason why motivation comes and goes for most people. I am going to explain how to stay motivated in this post and why motivation tends to slip and we fall back into the same old patterns we want to get rid of. There are some people who seem to be always motivated and full of energy. They are consistent, grounded, and produce excellent results day after day, and year after year. Why is that? There is a definitive reason for this. There is a reason and exact science as to why motivation weakens in some and in others it remains consistent and they achieve predictable positive results time and time again. Motivation can seem to be hard to maintain when you do not understand the forces that fuel it. It is very hard to stay motivated especially when results don't happen soon. Sometimes you can work extremely hard and focus for long periods of time on your goal but success seems to fall short. One thing I would suggest never doing is giving up. Success is inevitable as long as you never give up. Thomas Edison said "I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that won't work". It is normal to get discouraged and feel like giving up many times. It is important that you become aware of how to deal with these feelings and remain persistent. One might ask however, "how do I stay motivated to continue moving down the road to success with so many roadblocks and detours?".

Well truthfully motivation does not weaken or dissipate. The truth is your desire just may not be strong enough. For example, there are things you have a 0 tolerance for. It's called a standard. You will uphold that standard regardless of the consequence. If you are the type of person that has to drive a Mercedes, or live in a certain zip code you will uphold that standard no matter what it requires you to do.

Motivation is the same way. If you feel you do not have enough motivation to complete a task or to fulfill your desire pertaining to a particular interest, it's simply a matter of your standard is not high enough. It is not that important to you. If it was, you would get it done. No matter what. We all have motivation for the things that are truly important. Nothing has to compel or inspire you to get it done. The tricky part of this is.. what we may consciously say is important might contradict what we subconsciously do. If your subconscious actions contradict what you consciously think is important, you will find where your problem lies.

The difference between people who consistently achieve excellent results in life and seem to always be motivated is that they understand the importance of completing priorities and allotting time for to get them done no matter what. They do no wait for the inspiration or motivation to appear, their desire to obtain success in their interest is so strong it outweighs the latter. You must start and the momentum of motivation will follow naturally.

Now your reasons for why you are doing something will be your fuel to your desire. Your reasons will keep you going and help you stay motivated. If you do not have strong reasons then most likely you will put task relating to the interest on the back burner. Commitment, keeping your thoughts focused, and setting out to do things regardless if you feel like doing them or not will allow you to achieve excellent results. Having inspiring reasons to get our juices flowing helps tremendously so I compiled a list of 10 ways to to stay motivated. Remember these points and when you feel like your subconscious mind is giving you reasons why you should procrastinate refer back to them to boost your motivation to carry on.

10 WAYS TO STAY MOTIVATED

1. REMEMBER WHY YOU STARTED

If you feel like giving up and your motivation is slipping away, remember why you started in the first place. What were your reasons for starting? did you fulfill your reasons? If not, keep going until you do.

2. THERE ARE PEOPLE COUNTING ON YOU TO BE A FAILURE LIKE THEM

Misery loves company. There are people counting on you to give up on your dreams just like they did. They want more confirmation that aligns with their beliefs that success is unattainable. Success is out of reach and only for 'special people with special privileges and skills'. Don't give them the benefit of the doubt and certainly do not let them confuse their limitations with yours.

3. YOU WILL THANK YOURSELF LATER FOR NEVER GIVING UP

You will be so happy, grateful, and thankful that you never gave up on yourself when you goals are finally met with success.

4. DON'T WORRY ABOUT FAILING MANY TIMES. YOU ONLY HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT ONCE

Success doesn't happen overnight, but that's only because it takes time to grow and become the person you want to to be. Once you do, all it takes is one time to get things done the right way. There will most likely be many failed attempts during the process though.

5. NEXT YEAR YOU WILL WISH YOU HAD KEPT GOING IF YOU STOP. YOU WILL BE WONDERING WHAT IF...

You know how some people seem like a broken record with the same new year's resolutions but a different year? Yea...dont be like those people. It's embarrassing. Just remain focused and keep the main thing the main thing. You will thank yourself later, or you will wish you had kept going or wonder where you would be if you kept pushing forward.

6. HOLD YOUR GOAL BEFORE YOU EVERYDAY

Keep yourself inspired by writing your goal down and keeping it visible before your eyes everyday.

7. ONE DAY YOU WILL SAY..."I DID IT"

That's right. The day will come when you say to yourself "wow I actually did it".

8. SUCCESS AND GOAL ACHIEVEMENT IS A SLOW PROCESS BUT QUITTING DOESN'T MAKE IT HAPPEN FASTER

Quitting only resets the process. It slows everything down even more and prolongs your journey. Keep going, Keep fighting for your goal and don't have to start from the beginning trying to avoid setbacks and hurdles.

9. THE PROCESS IS SLOW AND SOMETIMES PAINFUL BUT ITS NOT AS PAINFUL AS BEING AVERAGE

It is more of a burden to be an average person who pretty much accomplishes nothing in life than being burdened with the complications of goal achievement. It has been statistically proven that only 5% of people even have goals and only 5% of people are successful and above average. If you're smart you will always pick the lesser of two evils. I would rather be stressed over my goals than be stressed over living an average life. So which would category would you choose?

10. PROVE EVERYONE WHO EVER DOUBTED YOU OR PUT YOU DOWN WRONG

This alone is enough for most of us. Success is the best revenge.
